At Jamals insistence, they had come back to find Latika. They rescued her and Salim killed Maman. For some reason. Jamal was separated from his brother and Latika again. While years later, Jamal was a tea server at an Indian call centre, he found his brother and his beloved girl. Salim was regretful for his past actions and only begged for forgiveness when Jamal physically attacked him. While Jamal admitted his love for her, Latika asked him to forget about her. Jamal promised to wait for her every day at 5  oclock at the VT station. Latika attempted to run with him, but she was recaptured by Salim. Jamal loss contact with Latika when Javed moved to another house, outside of Mumbai. Knowing that Latika watched it many times, Jamal tended to make contact with her again by becoming a contestant on the show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. He was born in poverty. He wa.nted to get rid of it eagerly and this thirst led him to an apparently inexorable path. Finally .he realized that after what hed done ,the most important thing was not money ,but happiness. He couldnt go back where he was, his wish was to rescue his brother and his girl. He helped Latika and killed Javed. With his dying breath, Salim gasped that God is great. As Jamal describes the specific incidents that led to his being able to answer each of the quiz show questions, he is simultaneously telling several stories, tales of the link between brothers, the never-ending battle with poverty, the lure and pitfalls of crime and the rapid modernization of India. In my view ,I dont think Jamal could live without his brother. Although Salim was bad, he wanted to protect his brother deep down the heart. He sacrificed himself. The method by which training is delivered often varies based on the needs of the company, the trainee, and on the task being performed. In McMinn’s 1996 book Psychology, Theology, and Spirituality in Christian Counseling, the author goes into detail about the theoretical and technical applications and interventions involved in the practice of counseling from a Christian perspective. McMinn discusses bringing religion into the counseling office. He asserts that religion is always addressed in counseling, in a variety of ways. Religion is either presented as a negative force which should be removed from a client’s life, as a positive force in which God is a helpful support in the life of the client, or as a negative force in which religion takes on a shaming role. McMinn calls the reader’s attention to the psychological and spiritual health of the client as being interwoven. From a Christian perspective, psychological and spiritual health is a given, an essential gift from God, and it is up to the client with the help of the counselor to find the path towards recognizing and appreciating spirituality as an element of psychological health. Prayer serves to bring God closer to people personally, and clients can be aided in their goal to reach spiritual enlightenment by praying to God to help them find solutions. Scripture can also be helpful in the lives of people wanting to find a deeper meaning and purpose in their lives, as the path to happiness is clearly explained within the Bible. However, it is not always appropriate to discuss religious ideals with clients. It should be up to the client whether or not he or she feels comfortable discussing particular aspects of religion. Although people are disturbed by sin, suffering from personal decisions to break away from God, it is important to recognize that sin can only be overcome by acts of love and kindness. Recognizing sin is important, but it is not up to counselors to point out the sins of their clients, and it does not serve any purpose for clients to fall into the gloom of guilt and shame. In regard to the benefits of confession, it can be immensely helpful and relieving to share one’s sins with another person, to give voice to the things one has done wrong. However, it is also important to forgive and move forward in figuring out ways to make amends and rectify the situation as best as possible. McMinn covers all of the basics in regard to how counselors should and need to address psychology, theology, and spirituality in Christian counseling. Religion is always a topic of any counseling session, and it is up to the counselor to decide the best ways in which to address the ways in which God is present in the lives of clients. McMinn offers a wide range of ideas and suggestions in response to people who are searching for an answer about how to address Christianity in the counseling office. Response In reading McMinn’s chapter entitled Toward Psychological and Spiritual Health, I was reminded of one of my own road trips with my family as a child. My sisters and I were making too much noise in the back of the van, and my father pulled over, opened the back of the van, and slapped me, shouting at us to be quiet. This is one of my most disturbing memories, and it made a profound impact on my life. Having experienced a situation such as this was a learning experience for me, and it took a while for me to wrap my mind around the fact that I was not guilty, my father was. My father was the one who sinned, not I. He was the one who was raising me, and he made mistakes. It was wrong of him to yell, to hit, to manage his own anger so poorly and to react to me in violence. I think it’s important that sin be treated seriously, as it is an act which fragments tender social and familial relationships. I think that it is important to feel remorse about sinful situations and to regard the incidents with honesty. As a child, I felt guilty, as if I did something wrong. I carried this guilt, which was also sinful, into my life as a young adult, until I finally recognized that I was not to blame. My father was the one to blame. And now, I feel comfortable in knowing what is wrong and right for me as a parent. I feel liberated by seeing the sinful situation clearly and through forgiveness of both my father and myself. I forgive him for hitting me, for yelling at me, and I forgive myself for feeling guilty and ashamed for so long for something which was not my fault. Reflection In reflecting on McMinn’s book, I think it is highly important for Christian counselors to keep in mind the importance of attributing sin to the precise people and situations. McMinn addresses how it is important to regard oneself with respect to one’s own sins. However, given the relational nature of human social interaction, it is highly significant to discuss the ways in which the sins of others have an affect on the personal lives of clients. Many people have problems in their lives, and many times, people are feeling guilty and ashamed, down trodden and helpless, because of the sins of other people (Isay, 2008). It is important for counselors to see the world clearly, especially the ways in which family relationships create specific relational responsibilities. One of the most important elements of the counseling relationship is to help clients figure out how sin, personal sin and sins of other people, are affecting their lives. Without being precise about who, what, where, and when sin has occurred, there can be no honest step forward into forgiveness. Action In my own professional life as a Christian counselor, I want to be able to help people to honestly be able to recognize and attribute sin to the problems in their lives, whether the sin is their own or the sin of another person. Most problems in the world are relational, and it is nearly impossible to consider oneself outside of the realm of how one is relating to others. I want to be helpful in asking questions and guiding clients in their search to figure out the ways in which sins are affecting their lives. When the sins of the client and the other people in the client’s life are clearly described and honestly voiced by the client, only then it will be possible for the client to move forward in forgiveness and reconciliation, and be enabled to move closer in a relationship with God. To Vaccinate or Not to Vaccinate

A lot of parents stress over the choice of deciding wither or not to vaccinate their children. The reason why deciding to vaccinate children is so difficult is due to the wide range of myths and side effects that are connected with vaccinations. Examples of myths spread to parents all over the United States is that the diseases don’t even exist anymore, rumors of vaccinations weakening a child’s immune system, and the risk of a child becoming autistic due to thimerisol in vaccinations causing autism. Side effects also scare parents out of getting their children vaccinated like brain damage, seizures, or allergic reactions. But then parents are pulled back to the thought of the possibility of their child or children catching a very serious life threatening disease. Any of these terrible things occurring in a child’s life makes it very easy for a parent to steer clear of the whole situation, and in ending result, not get their child vaccinated. When children aren’t vaccinated, they are left defenseless against diseases like hepatitis B, measles, mumps, chicken pox, polio, pertussis (whooping cough),   rubella, and more. All these diseases have the ability to easily kill a child within days, and if it weren’t for the vaccines protection over many children in the United States, the spread of these diseases would travel rapidly. There are a lot of people that do not recommend or get vaccinations for children because they think it is unnecessary to vaccinate for a disease that is no longer around. But let’s look at the big picture. If everyone stopped getting the vaccinations what would happen? Todd Neale from Medpage today inquires in San Diego 2008, â€Å"  Although the rate of two-dose immunization against measles was 95% in the area, a single case of measles from a 7-year-old child returning from overseas sparked an outbreak that exposed 839 people and sickened 11 other children†. If those 839 people weren’t protected with strong immune systems or vaccinations, there would have been a drastic dilemma. This is a perfect example of how fast a disease can get out of control. When parents think that its o. k. not to vaccinate because the diseases aren’t around anymore, they are really relying on other children who are vaccinated to keep their own children healthy, which is a gamble. In other words, According to the Children’s hospital of Philadelphia, if the immunizations rates drop only a little bit, outbreaks of diseases would sweep across the country rapidly. Another reason parents don’t want to vaccinate is because of the rumor of he vaccinations weakening children’s immune system. According to the Children’s hospital of Philadelphia â€Å"If 11 vaccines were given to infants at one time (which they aren’t), then about 0. 1 percent of the immune system would be used up, but because B cells and other lymphocytes are constantly replenished, a vaccine never really uses up a fraction of the immune system. For example, the immune system has th e ability to replenish about 2 billion lymphocytes each day. Also a study in Germany revealed that 496 vaccinated and unvaccinated children who received immunizations within the first three months of life had fewer infections with vaccine-related and unrelated pathogens than the non-vaccinated group. So here is the proof that vaccinations will not affect a child’s immune system. Then there is the big scare of vaccines containing the ingredient thimerisol causing autism in children. According to FDA, thimerosal is a mercury containing preservative found in vaccines that prevents bacterial and fungal growth which might occur with repeated puncture of multi dose vials. A lot of controversy has been held between doctors and parents because of prediction of autism being linked to thimerosal. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Vaccine Safety Datalink, â€Å"Preliminary results from the VSD Thimerosal Screening Study published in 2003 did not find an association between thimerosal exposure and autism risk and recent ecological studies has not found a correlation between thimerosal content of vaccines and autism rates†. Numerous studies by many scientists have been done and prove that Thimerosal and autism are not related. Examples: Vaccine Education Center at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, â€Å"Multiple studies have shown that thimerosal in vaccines does not cause autism†. Another reason people do not get their children vaccinated is because of risks associated with getting the vaccinations. Scary examples of some of the side effects associated with vaccinations include: seizures, brain damage, high fevers and even death. Let’s take the vaccine for hepatitis B as a good example. The Children’s Hospital  of Philadelphia states, â€Å"About one of every 600,000 doses of hepatitis B vaccine is complicated by a severe allergic reaction called anaphylaxis. The symptoms of anaphylaxis are hives, difficulty breathing and a drop in blood pressure. On the other hand, every year about 5,000 people die soon after being infected with hepatitis B virus. According to Car Accident Statistics from Edgar Snyder and Associates,† Each year, lmost 250,000 children are injured in car crashes, meaning nearly 700 kids are harmed every day. But this doesn’t stop people from putting their children in cars. The chicken pox vaccine is another example that side effects are very rare. According to Medic 8, â€Å"A macular or accine rash usually consisting of a few lesions at the injection site is reported in 3% of children and 1% of adolescents. Cases of allergic reactions to children are very low a nd should hold any parent back from getting children vaccinated. So in conclusion, the diseases that vaccines are made to treat are still around, and it is very easy for a disease to spread. Vaccines do not weaken a child’s immune system because of B cells and lymphocytes being constantly replenished by immune system. Numerous studies have been conducted proving that thimerisol does not cause autism. And The risk of a child having a adverse reaction to a vaccine is so low that its safer than driving down the street in a car. Protect your children from deadly diseases, get them vaccinated.
